Conet Project MP3s
Experience the weirdness.
Feral Film has posted a complete set of The Conet Project MP3s in our public download folder.
Mac users can open this iDisk right on their desktop. In the Finder, click on the Go menu, select iDisk, then select and click on Other User’s Public Folder. In the dialog box that appears, for Member name enter “FeralFilm”. FeralFilm-Public will appear on your desktop. Inside is a folder called Conet Project, which you can click-n-drag or open, and whose contents you can likewise manipulate like any other folder or file on your Mac.
Anyone else (with a modern web browser, like a somewhat recent version of FireFox, Internet Explorer, or Safari) can access Feral Film’s public folder by pointing their browser to:
http://idisk.mac.com/FeralFilm-Public
Likewise, any geeks with WebDAV savvy should be able to access these files with the appropriate tool of their choice.
As to the files you’ll find: The booklet will open in any PDF reader, like Preview (on the Mac), Adobe Reader, and most web browsers. While the 156 MP3 files can be opened in iTunes, QuickTime, or any of the bazillion other applications that play MP3s.
Yes, you could also download these files, one at a time, directly from the (slightly less user-friendly) Conet Project site. (Meaning no disrespect. My blessings on Irdial~Discs for making these freely available!) But Feral Film has taken the time to clean up and add tags for each of these files, so the track numbers and other basic info should load automatically, when you drag these files into iTunes. And Mykl and I just thought, as long as we did the work for ourselves, we might as well share it with others.
BTW, these will be on Feral Film’s server for only a limited time. So, if you’re reading this many months in the future, you’ll have no choice but to download directly from the Conet mothership, or some other source. Or just go buy
them.So, download ‘em, load ‘em up, then sit back and hear how spies talk to each other with 50+ year old technology. It’s a conversation unlike any other.
